Nos campos de batalhas

Nos lares escritórios

E ao se verem preteridas

Postas de lado por exuberantes

Lagartas oportunistas

Ao tomarem o centro do jardim

Borboletas também sangram, sofrem e choram...

Mágoas perdidas em desencantos

De dias fúteis

Voam em rotas feridas

No atrito de violentas paixões marginais

E se esvaem em atmosfera densa e poluída

Onde entraram inocentes e desprevenidas

Borboletas também sangram, sofrem, choram e se desesperam...

A chicotadas de línguas ferinas a tentar

Diminuir seu esplendor e leveza

E desaparecem em lembranças varridas

Ao canto mais escuro do quarto

Embaixo do velho tapete persa

Puído por desinformadas e vorazes traças

Borboletas sangram

Sofrem choram

E se desesperam

Mas nunca desistem de voar...

Butterflies also bleed

At sweet strokes

Of agile and harsh feathers

Slipping at the command

Of heavenly artists

In cruel and relentless search

Of full beauty

Butterflies also bleed and suffer

In the battlefields

At home and at the offices

And when neglected

Put aside by exuberant

Opportunistic caterpillars

Taking the core of the garden

Butterflies also bleed, suffer and cry...

Heartaches lost in disenchantments

Of frivolous days

Fly in wounded routes

In the friction of violent marginal passions

And vanish in the dense and polluted atmosphere

Where they had entered innocent and unsuspecting

Butterflies also bleed, suffer, cry and despair...

The whipping of sharp tongues trying

To reduce their splendor and lightness

And they disappear in swept-away memories

At the darkest corner of the room

Under the Old Persian carpet

Threadbare by uninformed and voracious moths

Butterflies bleed

Suffer, cry

And despair

But will never give up flying...
